How is the Bosch Indego S+ 400 Installed?
The Indego is installed by hand yourself but the instruction booklet is laid out in clear logical steps and there are plenty of video guides on the internet that spell it out clearly. For small gardens up to 400m2 the installation process is simple provided you follow the instructions exactly –correct placement of the docking station and boundary wire are essential or the mower just won’t run. Fortunately, it’s easy to tweak these and the Bosch service centre is at the end of the telephone although we didn’t need to call them for help.
Unlike other DIY robotic mowers the docking station is happy tucked into a corner so although it still needs a clear run in front there is greater choice as y were this can go.
Is the Bosch Indego S+ 400 easy to programme?
The Indego is very easy to programme by using the keypad and following the clear commands. It also has Smart connectivity so you can save your back and control the mower using the app or via voice control with Amazon Alexa. Three different heights of cut are easily switched by the push of a button on the top of the mower body.
How well does the Bosch Indego S+ 400 cut?
The Indego is the smallest mower we tested and has the shortest run time but it maps the garden before mowing and cuts using three, free hanging blades efficiently and well, leaving a smooth finish although it can only cut down to 30cm. It can cut slopes up to just 27% and is small and inconspicuous on the lawn when not in use.
What Features does the Bosch Indego S+ 400 have?
This little mower is packed full of features – ‘Logicut’ speeds up mowing as the Indego maps the garden and then works out the quickest way to cut it, mowing line by line rather than in a random pattern like many others. The ‘Multiarea’ function allows the Indego to mow multiple areas although a new separate docking station is required and the ‘SpotMow’ function lets you target specific, smaller areas for mowing when needed.
Anti-theft security is provided by PIN code operation and an alarm.
Accessories include garage housing and top covers in different colours which are available at extra cost.
