How is the John Deere Tango E5 Series II Installed?
All John Deere robotic mowers are sold subject to a site visit by a local dealer who will assess the lawn and your needs. Installation is discussed then – some dealers will include the set up as part of the cost of the mower while others may charge for installation and the cost depends on the size of your lawn and the amount of work involved to set up the Tango. Any installation fee would therefore be agreed in advance as part of the sale.

Is John Deere Tango E5 Series II easy to programme?
The Tango is very easy to programme and operate with simple, logical keypad commands and separate buttons to manually mow and park. The display panel is a difficult to read in bright sunlight and the height of cut adjuster is awkward – you need to turn the mower over and rotate the blade surround and it is tricky to see the height calibration clearly.
How well does John Deere Tango E5 Series II cut?
This is a substantial and robust mower that is great for cutting large lawns but it can’t cope with narrow gaps – it has the widest mowing width of 31cm of the mowers we tested but this means that any gap less than 150cm is too slim for it. Large back wheels help it tackle slopes up to 36% and its single steel blade cuts evenly and closely with a good finish and it mulches well but it doesn’t mow over edges. It also sounds a little noisier than other mowers tested with the same decibel rating.
What Features does John Deere Tango E5 Series II have?
The Tango has the widest mowing width and the longest height of cut of all the mowers we tested. It has no connectivity and although the mower can only be operated after a PIN code has been entered and this is the only security feature, which is surprising given the price.
Is John Deere Tango E5 Series II good value for money
The Tango is easy to use and cuts large lawns well but we feel it is pricey given its few features. Comes with a two year warranty.
